Donated Standpipes Added to Frankfort Training Towers

[/caption] Thanks to Dynamic Fire Protection and Ferguson Fire and Fabrication, two training towers at the Frankfort Fire Protection District Training Center are now equipped with standpipes. The training center located at 24420 S. LaGrange Road, is used for various levels of training by the Frankfort Fire Protection District, their cadet program and as an area-wide training facility. One standpipe was installed in a three-story tower, the other in a four-story tower. According to Frankfort Assistant Chief Larry Rauch, various fire scenarios can be set up for training including flashover. The standpipe allows trainees to experience hooking up hoses to the standpipe. Shaun Maher, Dynamic Fire Protection said he was glad to help when he was contacted with the request to donate the material and installation. He said it was important for firefighters to learn the proper way to use the equipment in various fire situations. This project is the most recent fire sprinkler standpipe system installed and donated by a Local #281 signatory contractor.  Other donated systems include:  Midlothian Fire Department, Chicago Fire Department, Alsip Fire Department, Villa Park Fire Department, Countryside Fire Protection District, Orland Fire Academy,  Glen Ellyn Fire Department and Buffalo Grove Fire Department.
