ROCKFORD, IL – Fire sprinklers helped control a fire in an electrical room in a 15-story senior living high-rise building. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire in the electrical room on the 9th floor. While the sprinklers helped control the fire and stop it from spreading, firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes. The building’s electrical system was damaged. As a result, residents were displaced due to loss of power in the residential units. No residents were injured, one firefighter suffered minor injuries.
