CHAMPAIGN, IL – A single fire sprinkler extinguished a stovetop fire when the cleaning crew accidently left a plastic tray on the stovetop and turned on a burner. Damage was confined to the area around the stove in a single unit at the West Quad off-campus student apartment complex. No injuries were reported.
