LAKE ZURICH, IL – A single fire sprinkler extinguished a fire caused by oil-soaked rags that ignited in a garbage can in a church that was undergoing renovations. The fire spread up the wall and reached the peak of the vaulted ceiling when the sprinkler activated. When firefighters arrived, the fire had already been extinguished. No injuries were reported.
